During his career, Porter averaged 12.2 points, 5.6 assists, 1.24 steals and included two All-Star appearances (1991, 1993), two trips to the NBA Finals (1990, 1992) and 15,586 career points

Currently 10th on the NBA’s all-time assist leaderboard (7,160).

Played for Pat Riley, Jack Ramsay, Rick Adelman, Gregg Popovich and Flip Saunders

Selected as the 24th overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 1985 NBA Draft

Trail Blazers retired Porter’s #30 jersey in 2009

Holds the NBA Finals single-game record for the most free throws made, none missed (15) on Jun 7, 1990 at Detroit

Remains the Trail Blazers all-time assists leader with 5,319 assists

Helped the Minnesota Timberwolves reach their first franchise playoff appearance in 1997

In his first year as head coach, Porter led the Milwaukee Bucks to the playoffs

Compiled a record of 815-547 (.598), and made the postseason every year except once during his 17-year NBA career 

Designed several programs (Blazers Exchange Club and SMART moves) for Portland's Boys & Girls Club and is a member of the organization's Alumni Hall of Fame

Created the Milwaukee Scholars Fund in 1994, which provides college scholarships to minority students in Milwaukee
Received his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Media Studies from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 1993

Named an NAIA First-Team All-American during his junior year at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
